Job Title: Commercial Gas Safe Engineer

Location: Hackney
Job Type: Permanent 
Reports To: Service Manager / Operations Manager / Technical Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Safe Engineer to carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial gas systems across a range of properties. The ideal candidate will hold current Gas Safe registration with relevant commercial certifications and demonstrate strong technical and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of commercial heating and gas systems in line with regulatory standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial gas appliances, boilers, and heating systems.

  • Install and commission commercial gas systems in accordance with current regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely.

  • Complete and maintain accurate service records, gas safety certificates, and job documentation.

  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and attend call-outs as required.

  • Ensure compliance with Gas Safe regulations, health and safety standards, and client-specific protocols.

  • Liaise with clients, building occupants, and contractors in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Participate in ongoing training and keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Current Gas Safe registration with valid Commercial Gas qualifications.

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing, Gas Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).

  • Valid UK driving licence (essential).

  • CSCS card (preferred).

Experience & Skills:

  • Solid knowledge of commercial boiler systems, plant rooms, HVAC systems, and associated controls.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

  • Good communication and customer service abilities.

  • Capable of working independently and managing workload efficiently.
