Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead and manage commissioning activities on a long-term project in Reading. The role will involve overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning for M&E systems, ensuring all systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the commissioning process for all M&E systems
Develop and manage commissioning plans, programmes, and procedures
Coordinate commissioning activities with construction, design, and client teams
Manage commissioning engineers, specialists, and subcontractors
Ensure systems are tested, validated, and commissioned in line with specifications and standards
Identify and resolve commissioning issues, defects, and interface risks
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and security requirements
Manage witnessing, sign-off, and client acceptance processes
Oversee documentation, O&M manuals, test results, and handover packages
Support final handover and project close-out activities
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale or complex projects
Strong background in M&E systems commissioning
Excellent planning, coordination, and leadership skills
Strong understanding of commissioning procedures, testing protocols, and standards
In-depth knowledge of health & safety and construction regulations
Valid CSCS Card
Ability to obtain SC Security Clearance
Sole British National (mandatory for clearance)
