Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead and manage commissioning activities on a long-term project in Reading. The role will involve overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning for M&E systems, ensuring all systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the commissioning process for all M&E systems

  • Develop and manage commissioning plans, programmes, and procedures

  • Coordinate commissioning activities with construction, design, and client teams

  • Manage commissioning engineers, specialists, and subcontractors

  • Ensure systems are tested, validated, and commissioned in line with specifications and standards

  • Identify and resolve commissioning issues, defects, and interface risks

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and security requirements

  • Manage witnessing, sign-off, and client acceptance processes

  • Oversee documentation, O&M manuals, test results, and handover packages

  • Support final handover and project close-out activities

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale or complex projects

  • Strong background in M&E systems commissioning

  • Excellent planning, coordination, and leadership skills

  • Strong understanding of commissioning procedures, testing protocols, and standards

  • In-depth knowledge of health & safety and construction regulations

  • Valid CSCS Card

  • Ability to obtain SC Security Clearance

  • Sole British National (mandatory for clearance)
