Job description
Overview
The M&E Senior Planner will be responsible for all planning and schedule management activities within the corporate Primavera P6 (P6) planning tool, ensuring a true and accurate representation of the delivery programme is established and maintained within the Mensa Programme to Complete (P2C).
Acting as a subject matter expert, the role provides expert planning support to maintain minimum planning standards and enhance the quality of data used for upward and executive reporting. Close collaboration with Programme Planners within the Programme Management Team is essential to ensure alignment of the overall delivery strategy, enabling effective issue resolution or escalation where necessary.
⚠️ This is a construction delivery role, not a PMO position.
Only candidates holding current Security Clearance at SC level (or above) will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Apply technical and construction knowledge to develop, manage, and maintain the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) elements of the Mensa P2C programme.
Interface directly with Supply Chain Partners and conduct regular schedule reviews to ensure programme accuracy and progress visibility.
Facilitate interactive planning sessions with stakeholder teams to minimise schedule impacts and optimise delivery sequencing.
Ensure all planning activities align with corporate standards and data reporting requirements.
Support the project delivery team in identifying and resolving schedule-related risks and opportunities.
Provide expert analysis of programme data to inform decision-making and progress reporting.
Key Requirements
Proficient in Primavera P6 within an Enterprise multi-user environment (essential).
Current and valid SC (or above) Security Clearance (essential).
Proven site-based experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects to programme.
Strong understanding of NEC contracts, particularly the Programme for Acceptance process.
Demonstrable experience in implementing and using earned value analysis for schedule and performance management.
Skilled in the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and building schedules from limited or early-stage design information.
Ability to integrate Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure with complex plant work packages to achieve programme alignment.
Collaborative working style, with experience partnering closely with clients, internal teams, and supply chain partners.
Strong capability in interrogating and challenging contractor schedules, identifying inefficiencies or risks.
Proficient in Critical Path Analysis, identifying early/late starts and finishes, and interpreting float erosion and critical activities.
Experience developing ‘what-if’ scenarios to evaluate the impact of sequence or logic changes.
Ability to interpret and work from technical documentation and drawings.
Personal Attributes
Analytical and detail-focused, with excellent organisational skills.
Strong communicator capable of engaging at all levels of the project hierarchy.
Proactive problem solver with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Collaborative team player who thrives in a complex, high-security project environment.
