We are currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Fitters for a major National Grid substation project.

This is a stay-away role, with accommodation costs covered. You will be working on the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of mechanical systems within a high-voltage substation environment.

Key Duties:

• Installation and assembly of mechanical plant and equipment

• Working from engineering drawings and method statements

• Supporting shutdowns, isolations, and commissioning phases

• Adhering to strict National Grid safety and quality procedures

• Collaborating with site teams and other trades on site

Requirements:

• National Grid Person & BESC

  (in date) –

  Mandatory

•  NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Fitting / Engineering

•  CSCS or equivalent H&S card

•  Previous experience on substations or HV infrastructure

•  Comfortable working away from home (accommodation provided)

Desirable:

• Manual Handling, First Aid, or Confined Space tickets

• Experience with valves, pumps, and pipework in an HV setting

• MEWP/IPAF or Telehandler ticket
