Job description

​We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical installations for a new build residential project. As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of the project by supervising the mechanical trades on-site, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards, and managing health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical installations (HVAC, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and associated systems) for a new build residential development.

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations.

  • Monitor daily work activities, ensuring quality control and productivity.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the mechanical team, including subcontractors.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments as required.

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and timely project delivery.

  • Monitor progress, report on any delays or issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

  • Conduct inspections and provide feedback on the quality of work and adherence to design plans.

  • Ensure all necessary tools, materials, and resources are available for the mechanical team.

  • Maintain accurate site records and reports, including work schedules, progress, and issues.

Key Requirements:

  • CSCS Card

  • SSSTS / SMSTS 

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the construction or residential sector.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in residential builds (HVAC, plumbing, heating, etc.).

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.

  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and site safety management.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project needs.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (HNC, HND, or equivalent).
