​Project Engineer – Landfill/Earthworks – Somerset – 12-Month Contract – £320-£350/day (Outside IR35)

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a major landfill/earthworks project based in Somerset. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a long-term scheme, offering 12 months of work with competitive rates outside IR35.

Role Overview:

As Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of a large-scale landfill/earthworks project, working closely with the site and project management teams to ensure technical and commercial objectives are achieved on time and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and review engineering design and construction activities

• Liaise with the client, contractors, and consultants to ensure project progress

• Support the preparation of RAMS, ITPs, and quality documentation

• Oversee earthworks activities, drainage, and associated civils works

• Ensure compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations

• Monitor project milestones and provide regular progress reports

Requirements:

• Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification

• Proven experience on landfill, earthworks, or major civils infrastructure projects

• Strong understanding of NEC contracts (preferred)

• Excellent communication and coordination skills

• CSCS card (essential)

• SMSTS/SSSTS (desirable)
