Site Engineer – Bridges & Civil Engineering
Location: langwathby Cumbria
Rate:£330 – £450 per day (CIS/LTD, negotiable depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Long-term / Ongoing

We are currently looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a bridges and infrastructure package based in Langwathby, Cumbria. This is a long-term contract offering involvement in the delivery of technically challenging bridge structures and associated civil works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting out and surveying for bridge construction and related civils (abutments, retaining walls, foundations)

  • Managing site documentation including QA, as-builts, permits, and material records

  • Supporting the delivery of concrete works, steelwork, and temporary works installations

  • Liaising with site managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and the client

  • Monitoring programme, progress, and ensuring works are delivered to spec and to deadlines

  • Promoting a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working on bridge construction or heavy civil infrastructure projects

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering

  • CSCS card (essential); SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)

  • Strong setting out skills with experience using GPS, total station, and AutoCAD

  • Good understanding of structural elements, concrete, reinforcement, and formwork

  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
