Site Engineer – Water Treatment Scheme | Manchester

The Client and Project Info:

My client is a leading Civil Engineering Contractor who are currently recruiting a Site Engineer to work on a major water treatment scheme in Manchester. The project involves delivering key infrastructure works within a live water environment, requiring strong engineering and setting-out experience.

Site Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Setting out and surveying works in accordance with drawings and specifications.

  • Assisting with the delivery of civil works on a water treatment project.

  • Ensuring works are completed in line with programme and quality requirements.

  • Managing and maintaining accurate site records, including as-built drawings.

  • Working closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager.

  • Coordinating with subcontractors and ensuring works are carried out safely.

  • Carrying out QA checks and completing inspection test plans (ITPs).

  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Site Engineer Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.

  • Experience on water treatment, wastewater, or utilities projects is essential.

  • Strong setting out and surveying skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • CSCS card.

  • SMSTS or SSSTS (advantageous but not essential).

  • Good communication and organisational skills.
