​We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways project in Birmingham. This is a long-term contract opportunity for an engineer with proven experience in highways and civil infrastructure works. The role falls outside IR35 and offers competitive day rates based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out and surveying for highways and associated civil works

• Managing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

• Overseeing quality control and ensuring compliance with project requirements

• Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery

• Maintaining accurate site records, reports, and as-built documentation

• Supporting site safety and environmental standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer on highways or infrastructure projects

• Strong setting out and surveying background (GPS, Total Station, AutoCAD)

• Relevant civil engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or degree)

• CSCS card and full UK driving licence

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• IR35 Status: Outside IR35

• Duration: 12 months (potential extension)

• Location: Birmingham (site-based)

• Rate: £320–£400 per day, depending on experience

• Start: Immediate
