Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor from a strong engineering background to oversee electrical installations on major residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will play a key role during RIBA Stages 4–5, ensuring technical compliance, quality delivery, and coordination between design and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate electrical works on large residential and commercial developments

Manage site installation activities during RIBA Stage 4 (Technical Design) and Stage 5 (Construction)

Ensure installations comply with drawings, specifications, regulations, and British Standards

Review, interpret, and implement electrical design information and schematics

Coordinate with M&E consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and design teams

Use Amtech / Trimble (or similar) for electrical calculations, load assessments, and design verification

Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems

Identify design or installation issues and provide engineering-based solutions

Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures

Monitor programme, quality, and productivity on site

Support value engineering and technical problem-solving where required

Essential Skills & Experience

Electrical engineering background (degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent)

Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on large residential and/or commercial projects

Strong understanding of RIBA Stages 4–5

Proficient in Amtech / Trimble or equivalent electrical design software

In-depth knowledge of:

LV power distribution

Lighting and emergency lighting systems

Fire alarm systems

Containment systems

Earthing and bonding

Testing & commissioning procedures

Sound knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schedules

Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills

Desirable

Site management or supervisory qualifications (SSSTS / SMSTS)

Experience working for a main contractor or large M&E contractor

Familiarity with BIM environments and coordinated MEP models

Experience with residential towers, mixed-use, or high-value commercial developments
