Job description
Electrical Project Manager
We are currently working on a commercial construction project and are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join the team on a freelance basis.
The Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for managing electrical works from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all electrical works on site from start to handover
Lead and coordinate electrical supervisors, engineers, electricians, and subcontractors
Review and manage electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and design information
Plan works, manage programmes, and ensure milestones are achieved
Coordinate closely with the main contractor, site manager, and other trade package managers
Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant regulations, standards, and project specifications
Manage health & safety across the electrical package, including RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work
Monitor quality control, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
Track progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions
Manage procurement of materials and subcontractor packages as required
Oversee snagging, defects, and final handover documentation (O&M manuals, test certificates, as-builts)
Maintain accurate project records, reports, and cost tracking where applicable
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an Electrical Project Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor role
Proven experience delivering commercial or industrial projects
Strong knowledge of electrical installations, testing, and commissioning
Valid ECS Gold Card (or equivalent)
SSSTS or SMSTS
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and subcontractors
Full UK Driving Licence
