Job description

Electrical Supervisor  – District Heating Project

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor /Engineer to join our team on a district heating infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems within the energy or utilities sector and a good understanding of associated mechanical and civil works. You will play a key role in coordinating site activities and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the electrical scope of works on-site, including installation, testing, and commissioning

  • Coordinate with mechanical and civil teams to ensure integration of works

  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to maintain schedules and quality standards

  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and project-specific procedures

  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and RAMS

  • Carry out site inspections, attend meetings, and report progress to the project manager

  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues on-site

  • Liaise with client representatives and project stakeholders as required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer on district heating, energy infrastructure, or similar projects

  • Strong knowledge of electrical installations, controls, and distribution systems

  • Familiarity with mechanical pipework and civil aspects (e.g., trenching, reinstatement)

  • Gold ECS card

  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification

  • First Aid at Work

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience in CHP systems or district energy networks

  • Background in live site environments or public-facing infrastructure

  • Knowledge of temporary works or lifting operations
