Job description

Our client is a well-established and growing consultancy working across a diverse portfolio of high-quality residential and commercial developments throughout London. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Design Engineer to join their team and play a key role in the delivery of technically challenging and design-led projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career within a collaborative environment, working closely with architects, contractors, and developers.

M&E Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Produce mechanical and/or electrical designs from concept through to construction

  • Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports

  • Coordinate M&E services with architectural and structural teams

  • Attend design meetings and liaise with clients and project stakeholders

  • Support projects through planning, tender, and construction stages

  • Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards, and best practice

  • Assist with site inspections and respond to technical queries

M&E Design Engineer Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering

  • Experience working on residential and/or commercial projects within the UK

  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards

  • Proficient in relevant design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, Dialux – depending on discipline)

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team
