Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance M&E Project Manager to manage the M&E package on a project in Oxford, starting at the end of January. The successful candidate will have a strong electrical or mechanical background, with relevant tickets and a degree in a related field. The M&E Project Manager will be reporting to the Contracts Manager and will work closely with other trades project managers, but will be solely responsible for overseeing the M&E aspects of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the M&E package, ensuring all work is carried out in line with technical specifications, budgets, and timelines.

  • Coordinate and liaise with other trades project managers to ensure smooth integration of the M&E works into the broader project.

  • Provide leadership to the M&E team, ensuring all tasks are completed to the required standards and safety protocols are followed.

  • Monitor progress, manage resources, and report to the Contracts Manager on the performance of the M&E works.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and health & safety guidelines.

  • Assist in the preparation and management of project documentation, including plans, reports, and cost tracking.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • Relevant M&E project management tickets (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS, etc.).

  • Proven experience in managing M&E projects, ideally in a similar freelance role.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with an ability to oversee both disciplines.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects.

  • Familiarity with the Oxford region and local regulations.

  • Previous experience in reporting directly to a Contracts Manager.
