Project Manager – Defence & Nuclear Sector

Overview
We are seeking experienced Project Managers to lead the successful delivery of complex construction projects within our Defence sector portfolio, including a major contract at a facility near Reading. The ideal candidate will bring extensive project management expertise—particularly within the nuclear industry—and demonstrate strong leadership, organisational capability, and stakeholder management skills.

Please note: SC clearance is required, with the ability to obtain DV clearance. Experience delivering Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational management, coordination, and delivery of assigned projects.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and project delivery teams.

  • Manage and oversee critical packages of site works.

  • Ensure nuclear safety, compliance, and quality requirements are achieved to the highest standard.

  • Deliver projects to schedule and budget through proactive management of deliverables, quality, risks, and opportunities.

  • Foster an inclusive team environment, providing leadership, motivation, and direction to deliver successful project outcomes.

  • Oversee and support application of project controls and commercial management processes (NEC3 & NEC4).

  • Ensure achievement of key project deliverables across all stages of the project lifecycle.

About You

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, with recognised project management certifications (APM, PMP, PRINCE2, etc.).

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex construction projects.

  • Minimum 5 years’ project management experience within a highly regulated environment.

  • Experience leading multi-contractor, multi-disciplined teams.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Able to perform effectively under pressure and in fast-paced environments.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing nuclear and defence projects.

  • Background in electrical and/or mechanical engineering disciplines is highly desirable.
