Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical services scope across all project phases — design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.

  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including subcontractors, engineers, and supervisors.

  • Oversee all mechanical installations (HVAC, plant, public health, and associated systems), ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.

  • Develop and monitor project programmes, budgets, and resource forecasts.

  • Provide leadership in progress meetings, design reviews, and construction planning discussions.

  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with company quality, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Proactively manage risk, change, and commercial performance to maintain profitability.

  • Support commissioning, testing, and client handover activities to ensure a seamless transition.

  • Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the wider project delivery team.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and site teams, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing large-scale mechanical packages on Tier 1 or major Tier 2 projects.

  • Proven background in delivering complex mechanical systems on commercial, healthcare, or mixed-use developments.

  • Strong technical understanding of pipefitting, plant, and building services systems.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, commissioning, and current industry regulations.
