About the Company

Our client is a major Tier 1 M&E contractor with an industry-leading reputation for delivering complex residential and commercial projects across the UK. With a strong pipeline of large-scale developments, the business is expanding and now seeking an exceptional MEP Project Director (Electrical Bias) to lead flagship schemes from pre-construction through to handover.

The Role

As the MEP Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of large multi-million-pound projects. Working closely with internal teams, clients, consultants, and main contractors, you will drive best-in-class engineering, safety, and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of large-scale MEP packages with a strong focus on electrical systems.

  • Oversee project planning, engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning.

  • Manage project teams, including project managers, design managers, engineers, and subcontractors.

  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, and legislative requirements.

  • Maintain strong commercial oversight, managing budgets, forecasts, variations, and risk.

  • Build and maintain excellent client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Support tender input, value engineering, and strategic project decisions.

About You

  • Proven track record delivering major MEP projects within a Tier 1 M&E or main contracting environment.

  • Strong electrical engineering back ground with deep technical understanding.

  • Experience managing large residential and/or commercial developments.

  • Confident leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex, high-value projects.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and influence outcomes.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or similar (preferred).

  • Chartered status desirable but not essential.
