Job description
We are seeking a driven Quantity Surveyor with experience in infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects to join a leading contractor in the Manchester region.
This is a long-term permanent role supporting major roads, structures, groundworks, and civils schemes, offering excellent progression, professional development, and hybrid working(1 WFH day per week).
Ideal for an Assistant QS with 3 years experience stepping up or an established QS seeking strong project exposure and stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the commercial management of highways, civils & infrastructure works 
- Prepare and manage valuations, variations, CVRs & cost reports 
- Oversee subcontract procurement, agreements, and payments 
- Monitor cost control, forecasting, and cash flow performance 
- Support NEC/JCT contract administration & change control 
- Contribute to risk and value management activities 
- Work closely with project delivery teams & clients 
Requirements
- 3–9 years Quantity Surveying experience (civil engineering / roads preferred) 
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline 
- Familiarity with NEC (preferred) or JCT contracts 
- Strong commercial and analytical skills 
- Proficient in MS Excel & QS systems 
- Ambitious, proactive, and strong communicator
