​We are seeking a freelance Senior Site Agent with proven experience in shaft sinking and tunnelling works to join our delivery team on a complex infrastructure project in Snowdonia.

This role suits a hands-on, site-focused senior agent who can take ownership of all aspects of project delivery — from planning and resourcing through to completion — ensuring the works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for day-to-day project management of shaft sinking and tunnel works.

• Manage site operations, workforce, and subcontractors to ensure programme, safety, and quality targets are met.

• Plan and coordinate construction sequences, equipment mobilisation, and logistics.

• Maintain clear and proactive communication with the client, designer, and internal teams.

• Monitor and report on progress, cost control, and resource forecasting.

• Oversee HSE compliance, CDM requirements, and environmental controls.

• Drive performance, problem-solve on site, and ensure delivery within agreed timelines.

• Produce short-term lookahead programmes and contribute to project reporting.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience managing tunnelling and/or deep shaft construction projects.

• Strong background in temporary works, geotechnical interfaces, and confined-space operations.

• Proven record of leading site teams and delivering to tight deadlines.

• Good working knowledge of NEC contract principles (Option A or C preferred).

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• CSCS (Manager Level) and SMSTS qualifications.

• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work in remote site conditions.

• Eligible to work on a CIS / self-employed basis.
