Job description

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to oversee a major water and utilities project in the Birmingham region. This is a 12-month contract operating Outside IR35, ideal for a self-employed contractor looking for long-term stability throughout 2025.

You will be responsible for managing site activities, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of works, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining project quality and progress in line with programme targets.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day site operations on water and utilities infrastructure works
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Supervise site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
Monitor progress against programme and report to the Project Manager
Manage permits, RAMS, daily briefings, and site documentation
Liaise with clients, designers, and stakeholders
Maintain quality control to meet industry and client standards

Requirements

Previous experience as a Site Agent within water, utilities, or civil engineering projects
Strong understanding of CDM regulations and site safety
SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid (essential)
Experience on clean water, wastewater, pipelines, or utility diversions (desirable)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple work fronts and deliver to programme
Right to work in the UK
