Job description

​We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a major civils infrastructure project in Birmingham.

The Site Agent will act as the construction lead on site, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management, supervision and safe delivery of works.

 

The role will initially involve approximately two months of night works carrying out trial holes, followed by a six-month Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase before progressing into the main junction improvement works. This is a key leadership position, ensuring efficient site operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and programme delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the construction programme and maintain clear awareness of weekly targets

  • Plan and manage site setup, ensuring all facilities and systems are in place prior to project commencement

  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors and supply chain partners on site

  • Take full ownership of health, safety, environmental, quality and sustainability (HSEQS) compliance

  • Ensure quality control procedures are implemented and maintained throughout the works

  • Ensure Temporary Works Register (TWR) is in place, accurate and regularly updated

  • Monitor and report onsite energy usage and waste data

  • Ensure effective site access and registration systems are in place for all personnel

  • Proactively identify and escalate risks or issues that may impact programme, cost, resources, materials or safety

  • Drive project momentum and plan daily site activities efficiently

  • Coordinate and prioritise site activities to meet programme and delivery targets

  • Lead, manage and motivate foremen and site-based teams

Key Requirements

  • Trade or technical background within civil engineering or construction

  • IOSH or equivalent health & safety management qualification

  • Temporary Works and Excavation Safety training

  • Experience with permitting requirements for live energy works

  • Competency in Working at Height and Scaffolding operations

  • Experience overseeing Lifting and Cranage operations

  • Additional HSEQS training in line with site requirements

  • Awareness of new technologies and digital systems within construction

  • Understanding of BIM strategies and their application on site
