Site Engineer
Job description
Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades across the UK. Due to continued growth in the North West, they are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support a key water treatment scheme in Manchester, with a strong emphasis on reinforced concrete structures, tanks, bases, chambers and associated civils.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will provide technical and setting-out support across a busy, fast-moving site. You’ll be working as part of a collaborative delivery team, ensuring structures are built safely, accurately and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
Setting out for RC structures, including bases, walls, columns, chambers, slabs and associated works.
Managing site surveys, control points and as-built records.
Interpreting technical drawings, specifications, ITPs and method statements.
Supporting the construction team with technical queries and problem-solving.
Monitoring quality on site and completing QA documentation.
Liaising with subcontractors, site managers and the client team.
Ensuring works comply with CDM, company standards and H&S requirements.
Assisting with progress reporting and short-term planning.
Experience Required
Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering schemes – ideally water, wastewater or heavy infrastructure.
Strong background in RC structures and working on complex reinforced concrete pours.
Proficient with setting-out equipment (Leica / Trimble) and digital QA systems.
Understanding of temporary works, drainage, pipework and civils interfaces.
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline.
CSCS card (essential); SMSTS/SSSTS desirable
