Job description

​We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of an FRC (Fibre Reinforced Concrete) tunnel and shafts project in Coventry. The role will be site-based and focused on setting out, quality assurance, and technical support through tunnelling and shaft construction works.

You’ll be working closely with the Project Manager, Sub Agents, and construction teams to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out for tunnels, shafts, bases, walls, and temporary works

  • Managing and checking FRC installations, ensuring compliance with design and specs

  • Producing and reviewing ITPs, RAMS, and permits

  • Quality control, including inspections, records, and as-built information

  • Liaising with subcontractors, surveyors, and design teams

  • Maintaining accurate site records, QA documentation, and progress reports

  • Supporting health & safety compliance on site

  • Assisting with short-term planning and resolving technical issues on site

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer on tunnelling, shafts, or heavy civil engineering projects

  • Strong setting-out skills using GPS/Total Station

  • Experience with FRC concrete works (essential)

  • Good understanding of temporary works and groundworks

  • CSCS card (minimum)

  • SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred)

  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a live construction environment
