Site Manager / Project Manager – Groundworks & Civils

Location: North West (Initial project in Wigan)
Start Date: Mid January
Duration: Long-term / Ongoing

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager or Project Manager to oversee groundworks and civils contracts across the North West, starting with a large-scale scheme in Wigan.

This is a long-term opportunity for a capable individual looking for stability and progression, with a strong pipeline of work secured in the region.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Overall management of groundworks and civils projects from start to completion

  • Managing site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors

  • Planning and programming works to meet deadlines and budgets

  • Ensuring works are delivered to specification and quality standards

  • Maintaining high levels of health & safety and site compliance

  • Liaising with clients, engineers, and senior management

  • Managing materials, plant, and labour resources

  • Reporting progress, costs, and programme updates

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager within groundworks and civils

  • Strong technical knowledge of:

    • Earthworks

    • Drainage (foul & surface water)

    • Roads, pavements, and infrastructure

    • Foundations and external works

  • SMSTS (essential)

  • CSCS card (Manager level preferred)

  • First Aid at Work

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
