Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical QA Manager to oversee quality assurance on a major mixed-use residential and commercial development. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of electrical QA — from first fix to final commissioning — ensuring full compliance with UK regulations, client specifications, and best practice.

This is a key role within the construction delivery team, ensuring quality is embedded from day one and that installations meet the highest standards.

Electrical QA Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the Electrical Quality Assurance Plan for the project

  • Carry out regular inspections and audits to monitor compliance with BS 7671, project specs, and industry standards

  • Review and manage QA documentation including ITPs, EICs, NICs, test records, and snagging/defect logs

  • Liaise with electrical contractors and ensure all installations are carried out to spec and programme

  • Conduct pre-start QA briefings and monitor adherence throughout the build

  • Support commissioning and ensure all test results are fully documented and traceable

  • Work closely with site management, M&E teams, and client-side representatives to ensure timely QA sign-off

  • Provide regular QA reporting and support with handover packs and O&M documentation

  • Lead the resolution of non-conformances and support quality-driven solutions on site

Electrical QA Manager Requirements

  • Valid ECS card

  • SSSTS / SMSTS

  • NVQ Level 3

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a QA/QC role on large-scale residential and/or commercial construction projects

  • In-depth knowledge of UK electrical standards and regulations (e.g. BS 7671, Building Regs Part P, NICEIC standards)

  • Strong understanding of QA systems, documentation, and commissioning processes

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills

  • Ability to work independently and represent quality interests in site meetings
