Job description

​My client is a leading Tier 1 M&E Contractor, recognised for delivering some of the most prestigious and technically complex projects across Central London. With a reputation built on quality, innovation, and collaboration, they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the mechanical delivery of a high-end residential development in the heart of the city.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical installation from pre-construction through to commissioning and successful handover.

  • Oversee daily site activities, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality.

  • Manage Health & Safety on site, including RAMS, toolbox talks, and compliance with all company and statutory requirements.

  • Coordinate and manage mechanical subcontractors, ensuring clear communication, performance management, and adherence to programme targets.

  • Liaise effectively with the Main Contractor, Client, and Design Teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum.

  • Attend and contribute to progress, design, and coordination meetings.

  • Monitor project budgets, track costs, and ensure all commercial objectives are achieved.

  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and final handover documentation.

  • Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed and all mechanical systems meet design and regulatory standards.

Key Requirements

  • Proven track record as a Mechanical Project Manager within the building services or M&E contracting sector.

  • Experience delivering large-scale residential or mixed-use projects in London, ideally with a Tier 1 M&E Contractor.

  • Strong technical understanding of HVAC, public health, and mechanical systems.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • SMSTS and CSCS –Essential.

  • Relevant qualifications – Degree, HND, or Time-Served Mechanical background.

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and project management software.
