​We’re currently looking for a Senior Engineer with strong experience in microtunnelling to join a major infrastructure scheme in Liverpool. This is a12–18 month CIS contract working on complex trenchless tunnelling works as part of a large utility and pipeline package.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering activities on-site with a focus on microtunneling, including shaft construction and TBM launch/reception operations

• Provide technical support to site teams, foremen, and subcontractors

• Ensure compliance with all design specifications, technical drawings, and QA procedures

• Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and ITPs

• Maintain accurate as-built records and quality documentation

• Manage engineering resources and support junior engineers on-site

• Coordinate with the wider project team to maintain programme and cost targets

Requirements:

• Extensive civil engineering experience with a background in microtunnelling or trenchless technology

• Strong understanding of shaft sinking, TBM operations, and associated temporary works

• CSCS card essential; SMSTS or SSSTS preferred

• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and subcontractors on major civils projects

• Strong communication and organisational skills
