Job description

​RTL Group are working with a leading civil engineering contractor who are seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead delivery on a major highways infrastructure project near Perth, Scotland.

This is a long-term contract (3 years) operating outside IR35, offering excellent stability and a key leadership role in the successful delivery of complex structures works, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other civil structures on a flagship highways scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities related to structures on the highways project.

  • Lead site teams, including engineers, foremen and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification.

  • Coordinate closely with designers, commercial teams, subcontractors and the client to drive efficient delivery.

  • Oversee programme management, planning and sequencing of works, identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Manage temporary works, permits, quality assurance and compliance with relevant standards.

  • Monitor progress against programme, cost and quality objectives, and provide regular reports to senior project management.

  • Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are upheld to the highest level.

  • Play a key role in method statements, risk assessments, and ensuring delivery aligns with project design and technical requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Site Agent or Sub Agent role on major highways or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong background delivering structures such as bridges, RC structures, culverts, retaining walls.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary site teams and multiple work fronts.

  • Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.

  • CSCS card required; SMSTS strongly preferred.

  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or similar).
